Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Conversions and calculations run in your browser. HexConvert.io does not upload converter field values or files to an application backend, and it does not keep a conversion history. Normal website requests, optional values placed in a URL, usage analytics, and browser error reports still cross the network as described below.

Data Processing

100% Client-Side: All number conversions, bitwise operations, hash generation, and other calculations are performed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Values entered directly into converter fields and files selected for hashing are processed locally.

Shared links: Converter prefill links put values after #x=, in the URL fragment that browsers do not include in HTTP requests. Older ?x= links remain compatible, but their value may be present in the first hosting request before the browser replaces that query with a fragment, so do not place secrets in a legacy query-style link.

Local Storage

The application does not currently store conversion history, preferences, or input values in localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand general usage patterns (such as which tools are opened). Analytics events are deliberately limited and:

  • Do not track individual users
  • Do not collect personal information
  • Do not record what you convert or calculate
  • Do not intentionally include converter inputs, outputs, file contents, or HMAC keys

Cookies

HexConvert.io does not set an application cookie. Hosting and monitoring providers may process standard request information under their own policies.

Third-Party Services

The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Sentry for error monitoring. Error reports can include technical browser details, the page URL, and a stack trace, but converter values are not intentionally attached. Please refer to Vercel's Privacy Policy for information about their data handling practices.

JetBrains Mono is bundled and served with the site; the browser does not contact Google Fonts to load it at runtime.

Your Rights

HexConvert.io has no account or application conversion-history store to export or delete. Requests, analytics, and error monitoring are handled by the providers named above under their respective privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
