GiB to GB Converter
Convert gibibytes (GiB) to gigabytes (GB). 1 GiB = 1.0737418 GB.
How to convert GiB to GB
Gibibytes and gigabytes are both different kinds of units. One GiB is 1,073,741,824 bytes and one GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes, so multiply a GiB value by 1.0737418 to get GB.
Watch out: this conversion crosses between decimal and binary units. GiB is based on 1024 while GB is based on 1000 - they are close but not equal, which is why a "500 GB" drive shows up as roughly 465 GiB in your operating system.

KB vs KiB: 1000 or 1024?
SI units (KB, MB, GB, TB) are powers of 1000. Binary units (KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB) are powers of 1024. Storage manufacturers advertise in decimal units while operating systems often report binary units, which is why drives appear "smaller" than advertised. When precision matters, name the unit explicitly.
